gravel cycling tours

Gravel cycling or all-road, groad, blandevei, grus, lame mountain biking or crappy road cycling. Whatever you want to call it, gravel cycling is basically drop-bar cycling on unpaved roads. Gravel riding has been touted as the “next big thing” in cycling for the last number of years. Originating in the United States and making its way to Europe. Where it’s been confusing Belgians ever since - they still can’t figure out the difference between gravel and their beloved cyclo-cross!

We’ve been riding our bikes off road in the Sierra Nevada for over ten years. In that time, we’ve taken more than one wrong turn, but in the process we’ve discovered some of the most beautiful places that the area has to offer. Hopefully, we can share some of that experience with you.

WHY THE SIERRA NEVADA?

We’re based on the south side of the Sierra Nevada, between the mountains and the coast of the Costa Tropical. As the name would suggest, the Costa Tropical, boasts the mildest spring/winter temperatures in mainland Europe - warmer and less rain than other cycling destinations like Mallorca, Girona or Calpe. We start and end each ride from our base in Velez de Benaudalla. The moment we pass the town sign we’re straight into the countryside, the surrounding mountains and soon after rolling on the finest gravel Andalucia has to offer.
